Ogie Doggie: From a Dream to Reality

Everybody has a dream of having a successful business, something to invest with and for singer/actor Ogie Alcasid it is a dream that came true.

Mr. Herminio “Ogie” Alcasid Jr. An artist to a businessman he was the one who conceptualized a wonderful food concept business which is the “Ogie Doggie Hotdogs and Sausages Corners”. He bravely ventured into the business world, as an artist, time is really difficult to manage but for Ogie Alcasid he was still able to find time to manage his hotdog business.

This idea is so easy for him to create because Ogie Alcasid loves hotdogs, it will never be difficult to do something you really love, it is like singing for him. According to him, it was his first exposure getting into entrepreneurship and he is happy that Ogie Doggie Hotdogs is there.

 

How Everything Started: The Story Behind the Scene

Ogie Alcasid was enjoying his break from numerous concerts in U.S.A he just wanted to have a bite of his favorite hotdog, so he asked his friend and stage manager Epoy Isorena to join him in spotting a hotdog stand. His friend noticed that Ogie loves hotdog so much and asked him to put up a hotdog stand and call it Ogie Doggie (it perfectly matches his name).

When Ogie came back, he went in researching, eating different brands of hotdog, tasted different breads. He really wanted to do it and experience it personally.

His first cart was in Market! Market!, it was surprisingly  great , he was just expecting Php3,000 to Php 4,000 for his gross income for his first day but it went up to Php 26,000 in sales on its first day, Php 16,000 on the second day and Php 30,000 on its third. The highest amount he has on his record it around Php 34,000. He was able to have his investment of Php 200,000 in not time.

To date Ogie has 6 outlets located in major mall in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. You can see Ogie Doggie Hotdogs stalls in the following places:

  • SM Mall of Asia (MOA) in Pasay City
  • Eastwood, Libis in Quezon City
  • LRT Recto Station in Manila
  • 168 Mall Divisoria in Binondo, Manila
  • SM Dasmarinas in Dasmarinas, Cavite
  • Lipa City in Batangas

Ogie Doggie is open for franchising; increasing numbers of Ogie Doggie stalls is continuously flowing. This only shows that this Business really has a potential to be one of the fastest growing food business in the Philippines.
